Introduction
3 Card Fury began a field trial at the Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas in June 2019. The game follows the same scoring as Three Card Poker and a similar betting structure as Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, with two required bets and an opportunity to raise or fold.
The full title of the game is Advantage Play 3 Card Fury.

Rules
- The game can be played by up to six (6) players against a dealer.
- A single 52-card deck is used.
- Poker hands are ranked as follows, from highest to lowest:
- Straight flush
- Three of a kind
- Straight
- Flush
- Pair
- Three singletons
- To begin play, each player is required to place an Ante wager and an equal in size 3 Card Monster wager.
- Next, the dealer will deal three cards to the dealer followed by four cards to each player, all face down.
- The players then have a decision to make, to raise or fold. In order to raise, the player will place a Play wager equal in size to the Ante wager.
- If the player raises, then the dealer will expose both the player’s and dealer’s hands and determine the best three (3) out of four (4) card hand for each player.
- Following is how each bet is adjudicated:
- Ante — Higher hand wins. Wins pay even money. Ties push.
- Play — The dealer must have a king high or better to qualify. If he doesn't qualify, then the Play bet will push. If he does qualify, then the higher hand wins. Wins pay even money. Ties push.
- 3 Card Monster — This bet always plays. It pays as follows, according to the player's hand and how it compares to the dealer's hand:
- Mini Royal (suited AKQ) — Pays 250 to 1 on a tie and 25 to 1 on a win.
- Straight flush — Pays 250 to 1 on a loss or tie and 10 to 1 on a win.
- Three of a kind — Pays 250 to 1 on a loss and 5 to 1 on a win.
- Straight — Pays 1 to 1 on a win, push on a tie, and loses on a loss
- Flush — Push on a win or tie, and loses on a loss
- All other — Loss
- If the player folds, then he immediately loses both the Ante and 3 Card Monster wagers.
- There is also an optional side bet titled the 4 Card Royal Family Bonus, which pays based on the poker-value of the player's hand alone. The pay table is shown below.

Example
In the hand above, the player initially bet $100 on the Ante and 3 Card Monster, plus $25 on the 4 Card Royal Family Bonus. The player was dealt 7-7-7-5. The best three-card hand was a three of a kind, which obviously merits making the Play bet. The dealer had a jack high, which doesn't qualify. As a result, here is what happened to each wager:
- Ante — Player beats Dealer so Ante pays 1-1
- Play — Dealer does not qualify so Play bet is a push.
- 3 Card Monster — Player beats Dealer so 3 Card Monster pays 5-1
- 4 Card Royal Family Bonus — Among the player's four cards, the best hand is a three of a kind, which pays 9 to 1.
The total win was $100 × 1 + $100 × 0 + $100 × 5 + $25 × 9 = $825.

Analysis
The following are screenshots from the math report by BMM, showing the probability and contribution to the return of all possible events under pay table 1 of the 3 Card Monster.
The table above shows the ratio of the expected loss to the Ante bet, how some might define the house edge, is 3.10%. However, the average number of units bet by the end of the hand is 2.88. What I feel is an appropriate measure of the value of the game is the ratio of the expected loss to the total amount bet, known as the Element of Risk, which is 1.08%.
Under pay table 2, the house edge relative to the Ante bet is 2.25% and relative to all money bet is 0.78%.
Following is the analysis of two known 4 Card Royal Family Bonus pay tables. The lower right cell shows a house edge of 5.08% on Pay Table 1.
