Lucky 99
Introduction
Baccarat 99 is a baccarat side bet, seen on multi-game machines called Casino Wizard. The bet wins if at least one side gets a natural nine.
Rules
The rules are quite simple. If the Player side only has a natural nine, then the Lucky 99 bet pays 2 for 1. If the Banker side only has a natural nine, then the Lucky 99 bet pays 5 for 1. If both sides have a natural nine, then the Lucky 99 bet pays 25 for 1.
Analysis
The following table shows my analysis of Lucky 99. The bottom right cell shows an expected return of 82.58%. In other words, a house edge of 17.42% (ouch!).
