A Recap of all the Games from Week 6 of the 2019-2020 NFL Season

As a major sports fan the National Football League engulfs your life from September through the Super Bowl in February. These are the scores, stats, schedules, and analysis needed to stay up on everything that is going on in the NFL during week 6.

Giants (2-4, 1-2 away) 14

The New England Patriots relied on their excellent defense to win this game as it was a close one early on. The Patriots defense forced 4 turnovers which helped them slide past the New York Giants who put up a valiant fight as they were very much in the game in the third quarter. The Giants inability to score any points in the second half of this Thursday Night Football game ultimately led to their downfall. Surprisingly Tom Brady did not have any touchdown passes in this one, but he ran the ball in to the end zone a couple of times in order to help his team win this battle.

Week 7 Games

Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants

New England Patriots at New York Jets (MNF)

Panthers (4-2) 37

Buccaneers (2-4) 26

TOP PERFORMERS

Jameis Winston - TB

RUSH

Christian McCaffrey - CAR

22 CAR, 31 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Chris Godwin - TB

10 REC, 151 YDS

The Carolina Panthers went up big on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early on in this game as Jameis Winston threw 5 interceptions which the Panthers turned into 17 points from those turnovers. Christian McCaffrey had another outstanding performance scoring two touchdowns for the Panthers who were playing this game in London.

Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers tried to come back late, but there was simply not enough time for them to make a miraculous come from behind win. Kyle Allen has done a great job of filling in for the injured Cam Newton as he has led the Carolina Panthers to their fourth consecutive victory.

Week 7 Games

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Bye Week

Carolina Panthers – Bye Week

Seahawks (5-1, 3-0 away) 32

Browns (2-4, 0-3 home) 28

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Russell Wilson - SEA

23-33, 295 YDS, 2 TD

RUSH

Chris Carson - SEA

24 CAR, 124 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Odell Beckham Jr. - CLE

6 REC, 101 YDS

Russell Wilson had another amazing game as he is an early MVP candidate. He threw for two touchdown passes as well as running the ball in for a third touchdown. Chris Carson was an animal running the ball as he finished the game with 124 yards and a touchdown. Baker Mayfield continues to disappoint as he struggled once again throwing multiple interceptions. The Cleveland Browns complained about poor officiating after the game, but they were hurt more by their sloppy play and excessive turnovers.

Week 7 Games

Baltimore Ravens at Seattle Seahawks

Cleveland Browns – Bye Week

Texans (4-2, 2-1 away) 31

Chiefs (4-2, 1-2 home) 24

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Deshaun Watson - HOU

30-42, 280 YDS, 1 TD

RUSH

Carlos Hyde - HOU

26 CAR, 116 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Tyreek Hill - KC

5 REC, 80 YDS, 2 TD

This was a close game that could have went either way. Both teams played well and got major contributions from their star athletes. The Kansas City Chiefs defense is suspect at times just simply allowing teams to run on them and drive the ball at the end of the game. Deshaun Watson had a stellar performance passing for a touchdown and running for two touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes is not playing at 100% as he has been dealing with a sore ankle injured in the Chief’s loss to the Colts last week. Tyreek Hill showed off his speed in his return back to the field after breaking his collar bone in the first game of the season against Jacksonville. He had 2 touchdowns and 80 yards receiving in this loss for KC.

Week 7 Games

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (TNF)

Redskins (1-5, 1-2 away) 17

Dolphins (0-5, 0-4 home) 16

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Case Keenum - WSH

13-25, 166 YDS, 2 TD

RUSH

Adrian Peterson - WSH

23 CAR, 118 YDS

REC

Terry McLaurin - WSH

4 REC, 100 YDS, 2 TD

This was a match up of two very bad teams in the NFL. Both teams entered the game winless so far this season, and they seem to be tanking in order to get the first overall pick in next year’s draft. The Washington Redskins went up early on the Miami Dolphins as they led 17-3 at the start of the fourth quarter when Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced the struggling Josh Rosen at the quarterback position. Miami came back and could have won the game on the two point conversion at the end of the game, but a dropped pass ruined the chances of the Dolphins getting their first win of the season. The Redskins ended up winning their first game of the year, but they have to play the undefeated San Francisco 49ers in next week’s contest.

Week 7 Games

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins

Eagles (3-3, 1-2 away) 20

Vikings (4-2, 3-0 home) 38

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Kirk Cousins - MIN

22-29, 333 YDS, 4 TD

RUSH

Alexander Mattison - MIN

14 CAR, 63 YDS

REC

Stefon Diggs - MIN

7 REC, 167 YDS, 3 TD

Both Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs played insanely great in this game. After receiving quite a bit of criticism from both the media and his teammates Cousins threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Three of those touchdown throws were to Diggs who was making long receptions all over the field last Sunday. Philadelphia has been struggling lately, and they have a huge game against the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming week on Sunday Night Football.

Week 7 Games

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (SNF)

Saints (5-1, 2-1 away) 13

Jaguars (2-4, 1-2 home) 6

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Teddy Bridgewater - NO

24-36, 240 YDS, 1 TD

RUSH

Leonard Fournette - JAX

20 CAR, 72 YDS

REC

Michael Thomas - NO

8 REC, 89 YDS

The New Orleans Saints continue to play well while their superstar quarterback, Drew Brews, continues to recover from a hand injury. Back up quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been leading the Saints into battle and winning. The fourth quarter touchdown by New Orleans was just enough to win this low scoring affair. The Saints have a big test coming up playing against the Chicago Bears defense on the road next weekend.

Week 7 Games

New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals (0-6, 0-4 away) 17

Ravens (4-2, 2-1 home) 23

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Lamar Jackson - BAL

21-33, 236 YDS

RUSH

Lamar Jackson - BAL

19 CAR, 152 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Mark Andrews - BAL

6 REC, 99 YDS

Lamar Jackson beat up on the winless Cincinnati Bengals by using his arm as well as his legs. The young star quarterback passed for 236 yards, and he rushed for 152 yards. The Bengals weak defense was overcome by the 2 dimensional QB, and their offense was unable to come up with enough points to beat the Baltimore Ravens as one more touchdown would have won the game for Cincinnati.

Week 7 Games

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals

Baltimore Ravens at Seattle Seahawks

49ers (5-0, 3-0 away) 20

Rams (3-3, 1-2 home) 7

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Jimmy Garoppolo - SF

24-33, 243 YDS, 1 INT

RUSH

Tevin Coleman - SF

18 CAR, 45 YDS, 1 TD

REC

George Kittle - SF

8 REC, 103 YDS

The San Francisco 49ers defense did a great job of shutting down the Los Angeles Rams usual high powered offense. The Niners held Jared Goff to a career low in passing yards with 78. The Rams scored only on their opening drive and then were shut out the remainder of the ball game. Luckily for Los Angeles they will be playing the Atlanta Falcons this upcoming week, and they should hopefully get back on track by winning that game. San Francisco remains undefeated and continues their unbelievable season going.

Week 7 Games

San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins

Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons

Falcons (1-5, 0-4 home) 33

Cardinals (2-3-1, 1-2-1 home) 34

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Matt Ryan - ATL

30-36, 356 YDS, 4 TD

RUSH

Devonta Freeman - ATL

19 CAR, 88 YDS

REC

Austin Hooper - ATL

8 REC, 117 YDS, 1 TD

This was a close game between two bad teams, and a mistake by the Atlanta Falcons caused the Arizona Cardinals to walk away with the win last Sunday. The Falcon’s place kicker Matt Bryant missed an extra point at the very end of the game that would have tied up the score. The missed extra point cost Atlanta the game. Matt Ryan played well as he threw for over 350 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Week 7 Games

Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons

Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants

Titans (2-4, 2-2 away) 0

Broncos (2-4, 1-2 home) 16

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Joe Flacco - DEN

18-28, 177 YDS, 1 INT

RUSH

Phillip Lindsay - DEN

15 CAR, 70 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Courtland Sutton - DEN

4 REC, 76 YDS

The Denver Broncos defense was too much for the Tennessee Titans as they got shut out this Sunday afternoon. Starting quarterback, Marcus Mariota, was benched and Ryan Tannehill took over, but the Titans were still unable to score any points during this game. Denver did not play particularly well, but they were lucky to match up against such a mess of team in the Tennessee Titans. Denver will have to play much better if they plan on beating Kansas City this upcoming Thursday night.

Week 7 Games

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (TNF)

Cowboys (3-3, 1-2 away) 22

Jets (1-4, 1-2 home) 24

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Sam Darnold - NYJ

23-32, 338 YDS, 2 TD

RUSH

Ezekiel Elliott - DAL

28 CAR, 105 YDS, 1 TD

REC

Robby Anderson - NYJ

5 REC, 125 YDS, 1 TD

The Dallas Cowboys are in really big trouble as they couldn’t beat the then winless New York Jets. I do believe that the Jets have a good young quarterback in Sam Darnold. He had just come back from having mono since week one of the NFL season, and he put up 338 passing yards with 2 touchdowns. If New York can build a better team around LeVeon Bell and Sam Darnold they may become competitive in the future. The upcoming Cowboys against the Eagles game will be a good way to evaluate the weak NFC East division.

Week 7 Games

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (SNF)

New England Patriots at New York Jets (MNF)

Steelers (2-4, 1-2 away) 24

Chargers (2-4, 1-3 home) 17

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Philip Rivers - LAC

26-44, 320 YDS, 2 TD

RUSH

Benny Snell Jr. - PIT

17 CAR, 75 YDS

REC

Hunter Henry - LAC

8 REC, 100 YDS, 2 TD

The Los Angeles Chargers are just no good this season. They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers who previously only had one win and were using their third string quarterback, Delvin Hodges. James Connor had a great game both in rushing as well as receiving. He scored 2 touchdowns and picked up 119 yards from scrimmage as the Steelers beat the Chargers easily. Los Angeles tried to make a come back effort, but there was simply not enough time left in the game to permit that.

Week 7 Games

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans

Pittsburgh Steelers – Bye Week

Lions (2-2-1, 1-1-1 away) 22

Packers (5-1, 3-1 home) 23

TOP PERFORMERS

PASS

Aaron Rodgers - GB

24-39, 283 YDS, 2 TD

RUSH

Jamaal Williams - GB

14 CAR, 104 YDS

REC

Kenny Golladay - DET

5 REC, 121 YDS

This was a great game that could have gone either way, but like so many times before Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers downfield on the last drive of the game. They milked the clock down and kicked a game winning last second field goal. This was another close game that the Detroit lions have lost as they seem to get close to winning a lot, but they fail to close games out at the end of the contest.

Week 7 Games

Oakland Raiders at Green Bay Packers

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
