Preview of the Upcoming 2021 Major League Baseball Season
Introduction
As we are vastly approaching the start of the 2021 Major League Baseball season now is the perfect time to preview the teams, players, and line-ups for all 30 of the MLB franchises. Listed below is every division in the MLB, I have listed each team in order by the predicted standings for this upcoming pro baseball season under their respective divisions, and I have also listed the projected line-ups for all of the ball clubs in Major League Baseball under their team’s name. Some teams and players will be highlighted to emphasize their potential impact upon the upcoming 2021 MLB season.
American League East
I have a strong feeling that the New York Yankees will dominate the American League East division this season. They have a strong line-up and if the Yankees can remain relatively healthy throughout the grind of 162 games, then they should be able to take care of business. It also doesn’t hurt that they have Gerrit Cole on the mound dealing either. In terms of the Wild Card, I think that the Tampa Bay Rays should be able to sneak in to the MLB postseason especially if they play with the intensity that took them all the way to the MLB World Series last year.

This may very well be the year that Gerrit Cole wins the American League Cy Young award. He seems like he is primed to have a huge year as long Cole stays healthy and gets his number of starts. By watching him pitch during spring training he seems to dominate the mound, and he definitely has control of the game.

National League East
The Atlanta Braves were so very close to making it to the 2021 MLB World Series last year, and I fully expect them to make a big splash again this upcoming season. Their youthful and highly skilled hitters can really move players across the base path and put runs up on the board in a hurry. Ronald Acuna Jr. may be one of the leading MVP candidates as well. The New York Mets are my pick to win the National League Wild Card in order to make it into the MLB playoffs in 2021.

National League Central
The National League Central will be kind of a toss – up this year. I believe that the St. Louis Cardinals will win the close divisional race to get into the MLB postseason in 2021. The Chicago Cubs are clearly in a rebuilding mode at this time, and I don’t see the Milwaukee Brewers playing as well as they did a couple years back. The Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates do not seem to have the talent on their rosters to make any sort of a playoff push this season, but you never know in pro baseball.

National League West
The National League West should be easily won by the Los Angeles Dodgers, although the San Diego Padres have a fully loaded squad looking to make some serious noise during the 2021 MLB season. The San Diego Padres are a possibility to earn the Wild Card spot in the National League as long as their superstar caliber players stay healthy throughout the year. The LA Dodgers have the type of a quality team that could potentially land them back in the World Series as they look to defend their World Series championship that they finally won in 2020.
