Introduction
Wager GamingTechnology (WGS Technology Inc,) is located in St. John's, Antigua West Indies, and is the modern-day iteration of one of the internet’s first real money gaming software. The company powers a small handful of online casinos with a gaming suite that includes progressive jackpots, regular video slots, and 3-reel slots; video poker, blackjack, roulette, scratch cards, and keno.
The software launched in the late 1990s as Odds On and then the company rebranded as Vegas Technology after a merger with one of the operators (English Harbour), and eventually in 2012 it became Wager Gaming. The number and diversity of games are what you might expect with a mix of dated titles from the earliest days and more modern games today. Some of the earlier games, specifically slots, were bespoke creations or games with modified payline counts, from developers like NextGen. The first site to launch under the new brand was Lincoln Slots, followed by Miami Club and a few others.
Many of the operators running the software also carry other games. We found at least one game from Arrow’s Edge that loaded as if it were on a Wager Gaming remote game server, more about that below.
While the software doesn’t appear to be licensed in the traditional sense, the games undergo monthly audits by Certified Fair Gaming™. Testing results and certificates are available by clicking the CFG seal on the bottom of the operator’s web pages.
Slots
As we mentioned earlier there is a wide range of games in the Wager Gaming slot portfolio. While that’s always been the case there is a more recent development that sees them running a remote game server or otherwise aggregating content from other developers for the casinos they serve. Some slots such as 1st & Goal load with an Arrow's Edge logo but Freaks of Folklore and Aztec Warriors load with a Wager Gaming splash page that tells us the game is provided by Dragon Gaming. Other games like Mystic Gems load with a clean Wager Gaming Systems splash, while others like Bankroll Bandits don't indicate the slot developer or delivery. And to add one more element, games known to be created by Arrow’s Edge such as Time Bender and 4th and Goal have no claim to the provider on the load screen nor in the URL as the game loads. A bit of a mess, but not something most players would notice or mind if they did.
As far as the RTP of slots games goes, the testing certificate isn’t as comprehensive as say, one from eCOGRA. It doesn’t provide theoretical or actual RTP. It simply states which types of games were tested and the results. Since none of the operators seem to list the numbers, we only have the number of paylines, free spins, bonus yes or no, and the volatility index as low, medium-low, medium, medium-high, or high. All but a few of the progressive games are available to play in demo mode.
We’ll take a look at a few of the slots starting with a three-reel classic with a twist, one of the common games from the NextGen/CryptoLogic era, and finally one of the newer titles.
7x Lucky 7s Jackpot
We won't go back to a super simple machine like Cash Grab which probably predates the Odds On/English Harbor (EH New Ventures Gaming) partnership, but the serious slots player might want to take a look at 7x Lucky Sevens Jackpot. It's a three-reel, one-pay-line game with a progressive jackpot that must be hit by the time the prize reaches $25,000.
One reason to review this game first is that we have plenty of data to share on how this sort of game works, and this title has paid out over 100 times since it was launched.

7x Lucky 7s gameplay
It's a simple 3-reel, 1-line game. Bet 1, 2, or 3 coins per spin. Coin values range from $0.01 to $5. The 7X symbols are wild multipliers with one awarding 7x and two awarding 49x the win. Landing all three 7X symbols awards 2,500x your bet no matter how many coins you have staked.
The full jackpot can be awarded on any sized coin bet. The best win ratio I have seen was a 3-coin penny bet ($0.03) that awarded about $20,000 ($19,429.51). The smallest jackpot we've seen was $760 and the biggest win was $24,692.
20,000 Leagues
Next, we'll look at a game released during the heyday of Aussie slots when NextGen was creating games for Vegas Tech, CryptoLogic, and possibly Jackpot Party. We'll look at Wager Gaming's 25-line version of 20,000 Leagues rather than the same game with the same name, artwork, and pay table but only nine lines as it was licensed to CryptoLogic. Most of the games released around the same time had similar mechanics but each one seemed to try a variation on the theme. For instance, this one gives players a chance to win anywhere from 10 free spins to 40 free spins per trigger. Since some of the triggering symbols are also wilds, the game has a chance of producing decent-sized wins even though the volatility is medium-low.20,000 Leagues has a 5-reel, 25-payline setup with a top prize of 5,000 coins. One symbol to look out for when you play is the Submarine wild. It only appears on reels 1, 2, 4, and 5. The 20,000 Leagues symbol only appears on the middle reel and it triggers free spins when it shows up with any wild. You will get 10 free spins for each wild submarine that lands with the logo icon anywhere in the central reel. New sets of free spins can be triggered during bonus play.
High-paying symbols include the Captain, Shark, and Treasure Chest with the Captain delivering the jackpot if he lands on a payline across all five reels. Standard card symbols like Q, K, and J are lower-paying symbols.
Jester’s Wild
Jester's Wild is a game with no belief in negative space. It's exceptionally busy in terms of shapes and colors, festive music, and easy-to-hit wild symbols across 30 paylines.
Five wild Jester cards on a payline will award 4,000x line bet and landing three 9s will award 5x bet per line. Stake anywhere from $0.01 to $5 per line for a max bet of $150 per spin.
Land the Jester bonus symbol anywhere on the central reel to trigger the bonus feature. The Jester will replace 4 symbols on the reels at random with a wild for a total of 5 wilds on the window - whether they line up or not is another matter. The Jester bonus is available in the base game and in free spins.
Three scattered Money Wheels anywhere will trigger free games. You'll win the amount of your bet when the game is triggered. Spin the first money wheel to win up to a 6x multiplier and the next one to win up to 32 free games. Free spins can be retriggered inside the bonus game. There's no need to spin the money wheel again with a retrigger because you'll get as many spins as the initial award with all at the same multiplier.
Spin Up Your Win
There's also a gamble game with a twist available after any win under $60,000. Simply choose the icon in the lower right corner to spin up your win and get anywhere from 0x to 5x the win.
Slots Conclusion
The Wager Gaming Technology slot library holds everything from “time one” games like Cash Grab to modern slots with multiple bonus elements like those found in Cash Cow and Jester’s Wild. Whether you played the older games when they were first released or simply like retro slots, there’s nostalgia to be found in the library. It's a good mix of games that can appeal to a wide range of players even if it is difficult to suss out just who made which games sometimes.
